Altos de Chavón and its musical history!

Altos de Chavón is an ancient Mediterranean-type villa built on a height above the Chavón River, in La Romana, Dominican Republic. It is home to a Cultural Center, the National Archaeological Museum, and the so-called City of Artists. It also has a Remarkable Amphitheater.

The Amphitheater is an iconic symbol of Altos de Chavón and Casa de Campo, it is the Altos de Chavón Amphitheater designed by the Italian artist, Roberto Copa in 1976 and inaugurated in 1982 with the concert “Concert for the Americas” (Concert for the Americas) with Frank Sinatra, Buddy Rich, Heart and Carlos Santana, on August 20 of that year.
